The was originally a 17 fret tenor banjo. The exceptional recreation neck was built by luthier, Randy Broyles, now working in California. The 22 fret neck has an adjustable truss rod accessed at the heel of the banjo.
Specifications are:.
-Serial number dating the banjo to 1928.
-22 Fret neck with ebony fingerboard.
-Adjustable truss rod.
-Planet style little shaft tuners with grained ivoiroid knobs.
-Geared 5th peg with matching grained ivoriod knob.
-11 inch all initial pot with a 5-star head.
-The nickel-plated flange around the front of the resonator display screens the ornamental 32 open f-holes.
-Ettinger style 5-string tailpiece.
-Burled maple resonator back.
-Set up and ready to play.
-Excellent tone and playability.
The proprietary Bacon and Day tone ring produces a noise that measures up to its name it is silvery and smooth with full acoustic density.
The plating is great on the banjo. The armrest has some wear and a ding. The back of the resonator has some marks however the burl walnut is lovely.
Comes a great form fitting case by the Modern Case Company.
The initial 17 fret tenor neck is included. It reveals hardly any play wear and is straight and the worries are great. The dowel was carefully removed is used on the conversion neck.
